Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties
  • Interpret blueprints, site plans, and irrigation schematics to guide project execution
  • Install and maintain irrigation components, including valves, piping, controllers, and sprinkler heads
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as leaks, wiring problems, and water pressure concerns
  • Ensure all work meets local codes, safety regulations, and client specifications
  • Train and mentor crew members in proper techniques and safety practices
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on job sites
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure project success
  • Manage tools, materials, and inventory to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Operate machinery and equipment, including trenchers, pipe pullers, and hand tools

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in irrigation or landscaping is a plus
  • At least 2 years of experience in irrigation system installation and repair
  • Experience leading or supervising a crew
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation components, brands (such as Hunter and Rain Bird), and water management techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math calculations
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Backflow certification and/or Irrigation Technician License preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Physically able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
